A coaching approach to academic performance.

Many students are capable, but missing the tools they need to perform consistently. Island Tutoring Co. focuses on the habits behind academic success: preparation, organization, feedback, accountability, and follow-through.

Sessions stay grounded in the student's actual classes while helping them build systems they can carry into future coursework, exams, sports seasons, and college prep.

  • Sessions built around each student's specific coursework
  • Coaching-minded support for preparation and follow-through
  • Tools for capable students balancing school, activities, and goals
  • Honest communication with parents about progress

A clear process from first conversation to steady progress.

1. Share the academic picture

Tell us the class, grade level, goals, schedule, and where support would be most useful.

2. Talk through fit

We discuss the student's needs, session format, availability, and whether the support is the right match.

3. Start with structure

Sessions focus on current coursework, upcoming assessments, missing concepts, and practical next steps.

4. Keep parents informed

Families receive honest updates about progress, concerns, and what should happen between sessions.

You should not have to guess how tutoring is going.

Parent communication is part of the service. The goal is to make progress visible: what the student worked on, where they improved, what still needs attention, and how to support the next step.

That kind of clarity helps families make better decisions and helps students feel supported without being micromanaged.

Flexible support without an overwhelming menu.

Families do not need to choose a complicated package before talking through fit. We start with the student's needs, then recommend the right support path.

Pricing is simple and discussed before starting.

Most families begin with a free consultation. Hourly support typically starts at $65/hour, with AP and test prep at $75/hour. The best support plan is discussed after we understand the student's goals, schedule, subject needs, and level of support.

No long-term contract is required. Families may schedule individual sessions or set a consistent weekly cadence. Billing and cancellation expectations are confirmed before services begin.

Selective support, matched by subject fit.

Island Tutoring Co. works from a clear standard: strong subject knowledge, patient teaching, reliable follow-through, and respectful communication.

Common questions.

How long are sessions, and how often should we meet?
Sessions are typically one hour. Most students meet once or twice a week depending on workload and goals. During exam season or when catching up, more frequent sessions can help.
Do you offer in-person or online sessions?
Both. Session format depends on student needs, location, and scheduling. Remote sessions use shared digital tools and screen sharing when that format is the best fit.
How quickly will I hear back after submitting an inquiry?
You will hear back within one to two business days. If you need something sooner, email hello@islandtutoringco.com directly.
How will I know if it's actually working?
Parents receive honest updates about what was covered, where gaps remain, and whether the student is making progress. If something is not working, we will say so.
What if my student needs help with a subject not listed?
Reach out and ask. The listed subjects are the current areas of focus. If Island Tutoring Co. is not the right fit, we will be direct about that.
Is there a commitment or minimum number of sessions?
No. There is no package requirement or minimum commitment. Some families book individual sessions, while others prefer a consistent weekly schedule.
